This is a great book! There are lots and lots of woofs on one of the pages but it’s mostly about one woof who is big and red. I’ve never seen a red woof before. The ones I see the most are brown or grey or yellow or white. I wonder where Mummy is hiding the red ones? The big red woof is named Clifford and he is probably the biggest woof in the whole wide world. He goes on lots of adventures in his other books (Mummy’s read those books to me too) but this book is the first one where we meet him. This book has some adventures too. Like when he gets a bath in a swimming pool. That looks like fun. I like baths and splashing! I bet I could help give Clifford a bath. I’m good at helping.

Clifford was one of my favourite series when I was a kid, and when I was first making a baby registry when I was pregnant, I actually had a lot of the Clifford books on there. I love the simple text, bright pictures, and being absorbed in the world of Clifford and his human, Emily Elizabeth. These are warm, delightful books that take me back to my childhood and one of the series I was most excited to share with Tilly. A new hardback edition of Clifford the Big Red Dog came out in December, ber 2018 and it is beautiful! A great addition to our picture book library.
