I read to my children from the time they were in my belly until they were old enough to read to me! We had a lot of well-loved books in our house. Here are a few of our favorite board books:

  1. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. This is such a classic, sweet story about the love between a mother and her child. Children find it very reassuring.
  2. Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Kids enjoy lifting the flaps in this book, and the text lends itself well to a theatrical read aloud.
  3. The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton. Children take comfort in routines, and part of the bedtime routine in our house was reading this book about the bedtime routine of a bunch of adorable animals.
  4. Goodnight Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann. My children never tired of watching this clever gorilla fool the zookeeper. This book is sure to induce tiny giggles!

I have many more children’s book recommendations on my Facebook author page. Happy reading!
